Welcome

My Story

Dammara is a captivating leader in the practice of sound meditation. With a lifetime of immersion in the world of healing arts, she draws upon her rich background to guide others on their paths to wellness and self-discovery.

Raised in an environment where spiritual practice was a way of life, Dammara's early years were shaped by the influence of her mother, an experienced yoga and mindfulness instructor as well as a clinical social worker. She began her own discovery of these disciplines at the young age of six, laying the foundation for her understanding of their transformative potential.

Simultaneously, Dammara's early exposure to music, through playing the piano and singing, instilled a keen sensitivity to the power of sound as a vehicle for personal discovery and transformation. This dual influence of mindfulness and music set her on a trajectory toward the realm of sound healing.

When a close friend took Dammara to her first Sound Bath experience, it had such a profound effect on her life that she knew she wanted to pursue this craft and share its gifts with others. As part of her journey to become a Sound Bath practitioner, Dammara became certified by Sara Auster, a world-renowned sound therapist, meditation teacher and author.

Dammara's dedication to Sound Baths has led her to integrate the practice of sound healing into diverse settings including individual sessions, small group sessions and large-scale events. She is avant-garde in her unique approach, in three respects.

Weaving ancient Jewish wisdom into Sound Bath experiences.

Dammara’s work is informed by her master's degree in Jewish Education from Hebrew College, certificate of advanced Jewish Studies from the Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies, experience as a Head Jewish Studies classroom teacher, and current participation in a Mindfulness Certification Program for Jewish Communal Professionals offered through the Institute of Jewish Spirituality.

An accomplished educational leader.

In 2020, Dammara received the Robert M. Sherman Young Pioneers Award for advancing Jewish education and was also honoured as one of New York's 36 Under 36, for her significant contributions to the community and her innovative work in the field of Jewish education.

Creating multi-sensory sound bath experiences.

A culinary school graduate, Dammara worked in New York at Jean George’s ABCv and Eleven Madison Park. She is also the founder of Jewish Cocktails, which offers Torah-based Kosher mixology classes featured in American Whiskey magazine.

Drawing from this background, some of Dammara’s Sound Baths are carefully curated experiences that utilise multiple senses (hearing, taste, smell, sight and touch), inviting participants to immerse themselves in a rich and holistic sensory exploration.

Integrating her leadership skill to facilitate transformative events

Dammara serves on the boards of directors for The Jewish Education Project, The Pardes Institute of Jewish Studies and Moishe House. Dammara also sits on the Israeli Judaism committee with UJA Federation of New York and is a co-chair for JFNAs National JEDI Giving Circle. A member of National Women’s Philanthropy, she is a proud Lion of Judah and also serves on the Moed Leadership Board.

Dammara’s leadership work also includes creating and facilitating Rosh Chodesh experiences for women of colour through At the Well. Dammara trained with The National SEED Project (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) at Wellesley College and is deeply committed to this work.

Dammara is also a current Wexner Heritage fellow and 2022 Nahum Goldman fellow.

Dammara brings her leadership and facilitation experience into her work as a Sound Bath practitioner.

In conclusion

As Sound Baths have transformed Dammara’s own personal life, she feels fortunate to be able to share their many benefits with others.

Through her sound bath experiences, Dammara guides others on an immersive journey of self-discovery, inner peace, and healing.
